It's My World and Y'all Just Live In It!

Again, if you're too cool to care and you're exhausted at the sight of another write-up such as this.. If you're itching to ask why there is a need to be concerned when what's happening with the Palestinians do not directly affect you anyways...

You're most probably searching for self-centered reasons, so get this: What if we were the ones in their shoes?

What if we were the ones being violently deprived of a territory when it is every citizen's and every nation's right to begin with?

What if it was you who was robbed of equality and rightful existence?

What if it was your child, or your parent, or your little brother or sister who's among the thousands of innocent civilians already killed?

What if you were just as unlucky as them, being in the middle of a war you wished you would never again be in?

They don't sleep nor eat, and can't even live a normal life anymore. If, just like them, you are already as hopeless as everyone you know, wouldn't you want to just be rescued, or even a little bit relieved, as soon as possible from the holocaust they're in?

And to add an even selfish-er reason, would you want oil prices to skyrocket again???

It is indeed very difficult to put an end to a conflict so seemingly unresolvable, and so old we've tackled this in our West Asian history, but all the same, we have to do our part. That is, if what you want to live in is a peaceful world.

For crying out loud, this isn't even a civilians' war in the first place yet they're the prominent victims of this killing spree! What do these unarmed people have against the 4th strongest military force in the world?? They have their slingshots, that's all. The fact that murder is just wrong in so many levels is already a justifiable reason to be completely against this oppression.

As if dead civilians aren't terrible enough, even the volunteers who come to help are either killed as well, or if lucky enough, just chopped off of a limb. Hospitals and evacuation centers are bombed, and relief goods from the outside are blocked from entering Gaza.

Sure, some of them might have escaped from dying the M-16 way, but they're not far from dying of starvation and/or chronic sickness.

Do you sense total annihilation, too?

If the Hamas and the Israelite military have no intentions of settling their conflicts in a peaceful, diplomatic manner, atleast spare the innocent ones ESPECIALLY the children from this inhumanity. They can go on bombing til the United States run out of armory supplies to Israel, just PLEASE stop the relief blockade, and stop destroying what SHOULDN'T be destroyed.

Being aware is the first step. The next act to take is yours. All they ask for is our voice, so do your part no matter how small you think it may be. Pray, as a little can go a long way. If you are interested and gutsy enough, join a protest expressing how much you abhor what's happening in Gaza right now, similar to what a school in London did. For an easier yet effective alternative, write down your concerns, put it out on the internet or send it directly to our government officials locally, in Israel, or wherever else and who knows, pag marami ng sumulat it'll get their attention and they'll find a way, probably an anti-war resolution or something like that. You will not lose anything by being concerned for these people who VERY BADLY need every help they can get right now.

Our country has its own unsolved problems to worry about, but if you come to think about it, Israel's story is mortifyingly similar to the Mindanao issue, as both are fighting for their territorial claims. This chaos just might affect us one way or another, in the long run, more than we think. Hence, we should be thankful that we are not yet? where they are now by trying to help them get out of it. Or atleast being concerned.
